www.idahostatesman.com Laura Lee Lake, at the age of 71, passed away Monday, June 24, 2002, at home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Archie Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery. Laura was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Winchester, Idaho, to Ewing and Sarah Abercrombie. Laura lost her mother at the early age of 13, and we are so happy that she is now reunited with her. Bill and Laura were married in Boise on Jan. 21, 1949. Those who knew "Lolly" will remember her kind heart, her warm smile, and her giving spirit. She was always there, ready to give of herself even when she was in great pain and suffering herself. She never stopped giving because that was her nature. She loved to cook, and when we would come home there was always an aroma of something freshly made. Both family and friends enjoyed Laura's homemade bread, pies, cookies, cakes, candy, and the list could just go on and on. She enjoyed her flowerbeds, which surrounded the house and also her large garden. She kept herself busy with sewing and doing a variety of craft projects. She also enjoyed collecting antiques. She made sure her children were always happy. She was very involved with her children's lives. She coached baseball, softball and was involved with the Boy Scouts and PTA. Her grandson Kyler, who is two years old, kept Laura going the past several months of her life and she so much wanted to see him grow up into a young man. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill; two sons, Ron Lake and Dan Lake; and two daughters, Connie Lake and Sherri Lake; five grandchildren, Charity, Daniel and Naomi Lovell, Lindsey Lake, and Kyler Jacobsen: six great-grandchildren, (Charity's) Sage, Mahdi, and Selma, (Daniel's) Kaionna, Daniel Ray, and Auttom; her loving sister, Jenny Newman of California; her friends, Gregg and Liz Ewing and Sue Jones who were faithful and devoted to the end and whom we consider family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Ewing Abercrombie; a brother, Ray Warren; and her sisters, Lou Erickson and Naomi Watson.
