Lena Edna LAKE, 88, Topeka (KS), died Monday, Dec 4, 2000, at a Topeka
hospice.  She was born Dec 28, 1911, in Bixby OK, the daughter of Walter
Guy and Louzella ROOKS NEWTON.

She married LeRoy Virgil LAKE in Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death July
4, 1955.  Mrs Lake also was preceded in death by three daughters, LaVonne
LAKE, Beth Ann LAKE, and Shirley D BERRY, and a son, LeRoy Walter LAKE.

Survivors include five sons, Ronald D LAKE, Michael A LAKE, and Daryl
G LAKE, all of Topeka, Steven D LAKE, Rockford IL, and Harold E LAKE,
Carbondale (KS); five daughters, Doris M BAKER and Sharon R COFFMAN, both
of Topeka, Marilyn V TURNAGE, Ayden NC, and Loretta M HENDRICKS and Ruth
A GROSSOM, both of Joplin MO; 51 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren;
and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1pm Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary.  Burial will
be at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Mrs Lake will lie in state after
2pm today at the mortuary where visitation will be from 7 to 8pm.
