Published in the Kansas City Star on 1/3/2006. Kansas City MO Lake, Lena Lorene Lena Lorene Lake, 90, passed away January 1, 2006, at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore, MO. Funeral services: 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons, Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., KCMO. Friends may call upon the family from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, at the Floral Hills Chapel. Lorene Lake was born January 8, 1915, in Sentinel, MO, the oldest of five children of James Henry Payne and Verna Ann Breshears Payne. Lorene married Robert "Bob" Lake in 1932, in Marionville, MO. Lorene and Bob were married 62 years. Mrs. Lake worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Co., KCK, and was a secretary many years for the Barber's Local 192, KCMO. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Lake of KCMO; and two brothers, Carl Payne, CA, and Glen Payne, OK. Lorene is survived by daughter, Barbara Lake Williams, her husband, James Williams; and Lorene's sons, Harold "Bob" Lake, wife, Betty Lake, CO, Jerry Lake, wife, Phyllis, of Raymore, MO; brother, Kenneth Payne, AZ; and a sister, Lovona Payne Mishler, Granby, MO; grandchildren, James Williams, Jr., Lee's Summit, MO, Mark Williams, Lee's Summit, MO, Terri Williams, Legant, GA, Debbie Lake, Stephen Lake, Laurie Lake, Robin Lake, Brian Lake, CO, Lorey Lake Siwiec, AR, Jeffrey Lake, Peculiar, MO; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and five great-greatgrandchildren.
