The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 55, Number 188 Halifax NS Canada Friday, August 8, 2003 LAKE, Lena Melissa - 87, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, formerly of Bramber, Hants Co., passed away peacefully with her family by her side August 7, 2003, in the lodge. Born June 7, 1916, in Bramber, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Geneva (Mills) Lake. In Lena's early years she enjoyed looking after many seniors and also being like a grandmother to her many nieces and nephews. She was very easy going, loved pets, and people never left her home without tea or something to eat. She often called Dykeland her home with her extended family there and loved going on the bus trips. Surviving are nieces, Eva (Walter) Lake, Windsor; Arlene (Edgar) Macumber, Bramber; many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Etta and Margaret Lake; brother, Benjamin and one brother in infancy. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today with funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, August 9, both in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy. 215, Summerville, Hants Co., Paul Potter officiating. Interment in Bramber Cemetery, Bramber, Hants Co.
