Published in the News Tribune on 4/7/2009 , Section B, Page 4 Tacoma, WA Leonard L. Lake Born on Sept. 19, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa and passed away on April 4, 2009 in Puyallup. Leonard grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 at the age of 18. While stationed at Bremerton Naval-base Leonard met the love of his life, Marion. After the war he married Marion, went to Bradley Trade School in Peoria, Illinois and ultimately settled in Puyallup, Wa. in 1953 where he and Marion raised 3 children. Leonard loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a longtime active member of the Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club and Boy Scout leader. Leonard is survived by his wife Marion; sister Eileen (Wayne) Driver of Virginia; daughters Linda (Chris) Morgan and Caron Huddleston, both of Puyallup, and son Leonard (Marian) Lake Jr. of Albuquerque NM; grandchildren, Demorie (Eric) Smith, Travis Morgan, Scott Lake, Camille and Keylin Huddleston; and great grandchildren Teagan, Nate, and Dagny. Leonard is preceded in death by his parents Selma and Leonard and grand-daughter Erin. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Puyallup on Friday, April 10th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the United Methodist Church, 1919 W. Pioneer, Puyallup or 911 of Puyallup.
