    Leroy George Lake, 79, of Ithaca died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001.
    Leroy was born in Ithaca Nov.  9, 1921, the son of George and Nellie
(Brown) Lake.  He married Paula Marie McCallum on Oct.  24, 1948,
in Breckenridge.
    For 50 years, Leroy was a dairy farmer in Ithaca with his brother
Gerald, and later with son Dennis.  He loved singing and was a charter
member of the Gratiot County Barbershoppers for 54 years.  He also
sang in the Ithaca Methodist Church choir, and played trombone in the
church orchestra.  He was a member of the Ithaca Masonic Lodge F&AM 123,
and was also a avid hunter and fisherman.
    Leroy is survived by his wife, Paula;  children, Connie (Wilson)
Lauer of Ithaca, Nancy (David) Harger of Ithaca, Ann (Mike) Hirschman
of Ithaca, and Dennis (Marta) Lake of Ithaca;  12 grand- children, Amy
(Kirk) Walker of Ithaca, Jill (John) Hardman of Ithaca, Brooke (Mark)
Stahl of Mt. Clemens, Paul and Adam Harger of Ithaca, Daniel, Peter,
Josiah, and Elizabeth Hirschman of Ithaca, and Seth, Courtney and Justin
Lake of Ithaca; and three great-grandchildren, Holly and Breven Walker
of Ithaca and Brock Hardman of Ithaca.
    He was preceded is death by his parents, George and Nellie; and
brothers Gerald and Ronald Lake.
    Services for Leroy will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ithaca United
Methodist Church with the Rev.  David McBride officiating.  Burial will
follow at Ithaca Cemetery.  Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and
Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca United Meth-
odist Church.
