Lake, 74, of Quitman, Ark., and formerly of Batle Creek, died Sunday Dec. 5, 1999, in Baptist Medical Center, Heber Springs, Ark. He was born Oct. 19, 1925 in Battle Creek to William and Gladys (Riggs) Lake. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired as a milling operator from Kellogg Co. Surviving are wife, Vonda M (Hammond) Lake; son, Jerry D. Lake of Newton, N.C.; daughers, Sharon K. Crow of Radcliff, Ky., and Janice D. Nordquist of Heber Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren. Community Involvement, hobbies: Member of VFW, Retired Employees 25 Year Club of Kellogg's and Thunderbird Country Club. Visitation: After 10 a.m. today until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Olmstead Chapel, Heber Springs, Ark. Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
