Lake, age 82, of Gettysburg will be at 2 PM, Friday, June 22, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Gettysburg. Burial will be at the Gettysburg Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 5 PM Thursday with a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Lillian passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Oahe Manor in Gettysburg. Lillian E. Lake was born on July 7, 1929 to August and Freida (Menkens) Schackel in Lebanon, SD. She attended country school at Roy School in Rural Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1948. Lillian married Boyd Lake on June 2, 1952 at the Gettysburg United Methodist Church. Boyd and Lillian started their married life living on the ranch at the river. They lived there until the time which the Oahe Dam was built and their land was flooded. In 1959 they built their ranch atop a hill over looking Lake Hurley where they lived and raised their family and ranched. The love of Lillian's life was her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lillian enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and especially roses. In 2007 due to health reasons Lillian and Boyd lived with their daughter Pam and son-in-law Barry Eikamp and their family. Lillian entered the Oahe Manor in June 2009 where she resided until her death. Survivors include her children, Jim Lake, LaRene (Delvin) Worth, Pam (Barry) Eikamp all of Gettysburg, eight grandchildren, Ryan (Margot) Lake, Carolee Lake of Gettysburg, Robby Lake of Agar, SD, Elissa (Mitch) Stevens of Badger, MN, Jay (Angelia Hiles) Worth of Gettysburg, John Eikamp of Sioux Falls, SD, Jaclyn Eikamp of Britton, SD, and Jennie (Brady Gross) Eikamp of Iroquois, SD, nine great grandchildren, Naydene, Bailey and Daniel Lake, Madelynn, Max, Marlee Matson and Morrison Thomas all of Gettysburg, Rose and Bodhi Stevens of Badger, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Marie Vail, Mattie Stoner, and Rose McQuown.
