Limoges Lake, 77, of Cony Road and formerly of Townsend Road, died Monday, Feb 18, 2008, at Maine Veterans' Home following a long illness. She was born in Guilford on July 26, 1930, a daughter of the late Glendon D. and Alice (Russell) Todd. Mrs. Lake was a graduate of Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford, class of 1950. She also became an advanced medical technician at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She was a nurse in the Women's Army Corps during the Korean Conflict, serving from 1951 to 1953. Mrs. Lake had been employed by Marble Johnson in Guilford and by the Waterville Convalescent Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest N. Lake Sr.; and a sister, Loretta "Jeannie" Sanders. Mrs. Lake is survived by three sons, Francis X. Limoges, of Guilford Center, and Dana Limoges and Andre Limoges, both of Parkman; a daughter, Terry L. Winters, of Guilford; a stepson, Ernest N. Lake Jr., of Chelsea; three brothers, David Todd, of Athens, and Russell Todd and Andrew Todd, both of Guilford; six sisters, Glendine Ward, of Skowhegan, Cecile Peachey, of Dexter, Hope Waye, of Benton, Vyrona Cowette, of Skowhegan, Dianna Davis, of Parkman, and Sylvia Cross, of Guilford Center; 11 grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no public visiting hours. A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb 22, in the chapel at the new Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
