Lillian L. Spooner

 NEW BEDFORD -- Lillian L. (Lake) Spooner, 86, of New Bedford, died
Monday, June 12, 2000, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of New
Bedford. She was the widow of Mahlon Spooner.
 A lifelong New Bedford resident, the daughter of the late William A.
and Sarah L. (Ellis) Lake, she liked to travel and enjoyed making
dolls, afghans, and pillows.
 Mrs. Spooner worked for many years doing domestic and home child care
in several local private homes and later was employed for 15 years by
the Cameo Curtain Co. of New Bedford until failing health forced her
retirement.
 Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lucy Spooner of New Bedford; and
several nieces and nephews.
 She was also the sister of the late Wesley L. Lake, Lester R. Lake,
Carlton E. Lake, Ilene Kristofferson, and Dorothy Faxon.
 Her funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kirby Funeral
Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road.

SPOONER -- Passed away June 12, 2000, Lillian L. (Lake) Spooner, widow
of Mahlon Spooner, of New Bedford in her 87th year. Services to which
relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
at the KIRBY FUNERAL HOME, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Calling
hours Wednesday 6-9 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
