URBANA -- Funeral services for Linda L. Smith, 60, of Urbana will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana.  The
Rev. Gary Gritton will officiate.

Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith died at 9:09 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 4, 2001) at Provena Covenant
Medical Center, Urbana.

She was born July 17, 1940, at Rantoul, a daughter of Herschel and Treva
Thurman Lakey.  She married Raymond C. Smith on June 7, 1957, in Lacon.  He
died April 15, 1996.

Surviving are her father of Urbana; a son, Rick Smith of Thomasboro; a
brother Robert Lakey of Urbana; and three grandsons.

Mrs. Smith graduated from Urbana High School.  She worked in food service at
Urbana High School and Urbana Middle School for more than 20 years.  She
attended Calvary Baptist Church, Urbana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Department at Provena
Covenant Medical Center, Urbana or to the National Kidney Foundation.
