The Star Phoenix, Saskatoon, SK Canada 22 Jan 2000 LAKE, LORNE LAKE Lorne W. went to be with our Lord and personal saviour on Thursday, January 20, 2000 at the age of 70. Lorne died peacefully of heart failure at City Hospital where he was born and also where he was first employed. He is survived by his loving wife, Genevieve (Jenny); two sons, Jim and Jeff (Rosalyn) Lake, all of Saskatoon; his mother, Olive Lake; sister, Dorothy (Wilf) Godfrey; nephew, Brian (Lise), all of Calgary, AB; and nephew, Duane (Selina) of Georgetown, ON. He was predeceased by his father, Wilfrid Lake of Calgary. Lorne attended Albert School, City Park Collegiate and the U of S. After working in the office at City Hospital he travelled with Pacific Milk Co., Burns and Co. and was affiliated with the Associated Canadian Travellers (ACT). He was an auditor for the Saskatchewan Provincial Government before his early retirement. Lorne was an active member of Avalon Alliance Church and later Circle Drive Alliance Church where we have many loving and supportive friends. Lorne's strong faith in Christ and wonderful sense of humor has sustained him all through the years of illness. He will be greatly missed but we have joy in the knowledge that he is in the arms of our Lord and Saviour. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to City Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society. The Funeral Service will be held at Circle Drive Alliance Church on Tuesday, January 25, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Wayne Andrie. Interment will follow in the Garden Of The Old Rugged Cross, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greg Lalach of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 244-2103.
