MUSCATINE JOURNAL, Monday, December 9, 2002 Muscatine, Muscatine Co, IA Lettie Lake MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Lottis Lake "Ma-Maw", 77, Muscatine, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center - West Campus, Davenport. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funderal Home. The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetrey. Pallbearers are grandchildren, Ralph Lake, Steven Lake, Aaron Garcia, Nathan Lake, Alex Garcia and Daniels Garcia. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in the Community Room at the funeral home. Mrs. Lake was born July 15, 1925, in Knoxville, TN, the daughter of John L. and Dovie Jo Tucker Grayson. She married Ralph Lake June 26, 1948, at Union Brethern Church, Muscatine. She worked at Lutheran Homes as a CNA for eight years and prior to that she worked at Model Laundry for several years. She enjoyed collecting, cooking, crocheting and crafts, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. Survivors include four sons, John Lake and wife Jane of Temple GA, Kenneth Lake of Wappingers Falls, NY, Roger Lake and David Lake both of Muscatine; three daughters Barbara Carlton of Muscatine, JoAnn Grayson of Houston, TX, and Sandra Schaaf and husband John of Muscatine; a stepdaughter, Sharon Strand of Brooklyn, MN; two stepsons,Dennis Flynn of West Liberty and Ronald Lake and wife Charlotte of Muscatine; 36 grandchldren; seven step grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gene Grayson and wife Verna, and John Grayson and wife Mae, all of Knoxville, and Charlie Grayson and wife Estella of Pearland, TX; and a sister, Virginia Coffin of Pasadena, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three daughters, Sue Lake, Janice Hernandez and Lisa Lake; a stepson, Thomas Lake; and two sisters. She was employed eight years as a certified nurse assistant at Lutheran Homes, Muscatine, and earlier worked several years at Model Laundry. Lottie Grayson was born July 15, 1925, Knoxville, Tenn. She married Ralph Lake in 1948 in Muscatine. He preceded her in death. A memorial fund has been established.
