The celebration of her homegoing will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 3, 2003 at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 721 Johnson Street. Rev. Rodrick A. Smith, Pastor. Rev. R. B. Corley, Jr. will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., where the family will be present at 6 p.m. for a family hour. Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on September 26, 2003 from a lengthy illness. She was born in Memphis, Tenn. on January 7, 1926 to William A. Lake and Betty Lou Parker. She came to Saginaw at an early age. She married Arthur Williams on May 5, 1969. He survives her. Mrs. Williams was a past member of St. Matthew Order of Eastern Star Chapter 18. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church for 37 years and was currently a member of Prince of Peace Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lucille (Austin) Hicks, Brenda Kay Wilson, George L. Wilson, Lathan (Kimberly) Wilson, Jerome (Regina) Wilson, all of Saginaw; stepchildren, Arthur (Irene) Williams, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Esper (Jackie) Williams, Warren (Sharon) Williams, Rundy Williams, Tyran (Pearl) Williams, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; siblings: one brother, David Lake of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Josephine Neal of Saginaw, Mich. and Janie Ferguson of Flint, Mich.; 38 grandchildren, including a special grandson, Ja-Whan Hardy; 54 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
