Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Missouri, February 26, 2006 Lydia E. Lake, 87, passed away February 25, 2006. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park; with interment in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Masonic Home of Missouri-Western Unit; 12101 E. Bannister Rd; Kansas City, MO 64138. Lydia had worked as a clothing buyer for Adler's Clothing Store and was unit secretary for North Kansas City Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of Eastern Star, Swope Park Chapter 520 of Kansas City, the Social Order of Beauceant, Assembly 150 of Independence, MO and was past president of the Liberty Chapter of Business and Professional Women's Association. Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Ople E. Lake; 1 brother and 2 sisters. Survivors include her children, Bob and Carol Lake of Iowa City, IA, Don and Nancy Lake of Trimble, MO; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bob and Marge Harford of Omaha, NE and Gene and Wanda Harford of Tucson, AZ.
