M. Cheryl McKeown
M. Cheryl McKeown, 86, of 500 S. Ninth St., Burlington, died at 7:29 a.m.
Monday, April 22, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center. 
Born Sept. 12, 1909, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Edgar and Libby
Shaw Workman. She married John Victor Lakey on March 11, 1941, in Burlington.
He died April 16, 1948. She later married Orville P. McKeown on March 27,
1959, in Fort Madison. He died Jan. 23, 1983. 
Mrs. McKeown was a homemaker. 
She was of the Lutheran faith. 
Survivors include one daughter, J. Victoria Leonard of Burlington; two
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Daley of Fort
Madison. 
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters
and two brothers. 
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today in Prugh's Chapel. 
A graveside committal service for Mrs. McKeown will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in
Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison, with the Rev. Gordon Lundberg officiating. 
A memorial has been established for Fort Madison Health Center.
