Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004 15:04:05 -0500 From: Lisa Husband Finds Wife, Suicide Mrs. Jacob LINDABERRY Ends Life at Her Home in Mountainville Hangs Self In Cellar Despondent from some cause unknown to the family, and tired of living, Mrs. Mabel LINDABERRY, wife of Jacob LINDABERRY of Mountainville, went into the cellar of her home shortly before noon yesterday and hung herself. Her husband is a well known farmer of Tewksbury township and last year was a candidate for Freeholder in the Democratic primaries. Mr. LINDABERRY, with a helper, had been butchering hogs. The two men went to the house at 11:45 for dinner. Mrs. LINDABERRY was not in the kitchen and there were no signs of dinner having been prepared, although potatoes had been peeled. The cellar door was ajar and LINDABERRY called to his wife. Receiving no answer, he went into the cellar and found his wife lying on the floor. She had hung herself. The rope, however, had broken and the body had fallen to the floor. It was evident to him that his wife was dead. Coroner Daniel COUGHLIN of Califon was notified and, after investigating the circumstances, issued a burial permit. Mrs. LINDABERRY, who was 51, was formerly Miss Mabel VAN VLIET, daughter of the late Paul and Jane VAN VLIET of Oldwick. Her mother died last spring. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jennie HAVER of Potterstown and Mrs. Walter FAULK of Annandale; one sister, Mrs. CORNELL of Somerville. She was a member of the Cokesbury Methodist church and Rev. E. MAGILL, former pastor, will officiate at the funeral which will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., with interment in the Cokesbury cemetery.
