The World; Coos Bay OR; 2001-11-15 Graveside services for Madge Louise Spencer, 92, of North Bend, will be held at 2pm on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Catching Creek Cemetery in Myrtle Point. Pastor James Dougherty of the Assembly of God Church in Myrtle Point, will officiate. Viewing will be from 9am to noon on Friday, Nov. 16 at Myrtle Grove Funeral Service, 265 Rink Creek Road, Coquille. A luncheon is scheduled following the service at the Assembly of God Church, 417 Willow St., Myrtle Point. She was born Dec. 17, 1908, in Council, Idaho. She died Nov. 12, 2001 in North Bend. Madge graduated from Myrtle Point High School in 1928. She worked at and retired from Evans Products in Coos Bay. She was married to Rolla Spencer and together they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Madge collected salt and pepper shakers and loved puzzles and cards. She is survived by her sister, Garnet Morris of Reedsport; brother, Elvin "Dick" Lakey of Lakeside; sisters-in-law, Stella Lakey of Lakeside; Nettie Lakey of Terrebonne and Goldie Millard of Coos Bay; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son; 12 year old son, Joe; nephew, Scott Lakey; husband, Rolla Spencer; six brothers; and five sisters. The family suggests memorial contributions to South Coast Hospice, 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, OR 97420; or the Assembly of God Church, 417 Willow St., Myrtle Point, OR 97458.
