Star-Courier; Kewanee IL; 2002-2-15 GENESEO - Maisey L. Lake, 85, of rural Geneseo, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Wright Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Robert Bottoms will officiate.Visitation will be from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday. Cremation will take place following the service. She was born Aug. 18, 1916, in London, England, the daughter of David and Lillian (Pretious) Davies. She married Albert Lake July 23, 1938, in London. He survives, as do a son, Ray (Julie) Lake of Geneseo; a daughter, Mrs. Ken (Irene) Kerr of Finleyville, Pa.; grandchildren Tracianne and Robin Kerr of Finleyville, Megan and William Stewart of Pittsburgh, Jonathan Lake of Ames, Iowa and Jennifer Lake of Columbia, S.C.; great-grandchildren Jason Vogelsburger, Kenny Giehll and William Stewart; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Maude) Friedrich of Pittsburgh and Mary Morris of England; and a brother, Jim (Carol) Davies of England. Her grandson, John Kerr, and a great-granddaughter, Nina Vogelsanger, preceded her in death. The couple moved to the United States on Sept. 16, 1951 and settled in Geneseo in 1991. She worked at the Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1957 to 1962. She was then employed as an administrative assistant to the deat at Elmhurst College for 22 years, retiring in June of 1985. She was a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and the Geneseo Quilt Club. Her hobbies were knitting, cross stitch, quilting and shopping.
