Services were held Friday Feb. 7 at First Lutheran, Detroit Lakes, MN, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. She is survivied by 4 sons-Pete, Vashon, WA, Douglas,Lakeville, MN, Howard and Robert, both of Phoeniz, AZ. and nine grandchildren. (West Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes) Detroit Lakes Tribune; Detroit Lakes MN; 2003-2-9 Margaret Lake Aug. 28, 1916-Feb. 4, 2003 Margaret Julia Lake, 86, of Fargo, died at her residence on Tuesday, February 4, 2003, under hospice care. Margaret Julia Farstad was born August 28, 1916, to Ivar and Olianna Bjorsness Farstad in New Folden, Minn. Margaret, also known as "Peggy," grew up and received her education in Devils Lake, N.D., graduating from Devils Lake High School. She married Roland Peterson and lived with him in Devils Lake-Roland was killed in action in Holland during WWII. She met and married Howard Lake and the couple moved to Bismarck, N.D., where she worked for the Department of Public Instruction at the State Capitol for 30 years. They retired in 1976 to Detroit Lakes. Howard died in August of 1988. Survivors are four sons: Pete (Karol) Lake, Vashon, Wash.; Howard Lake, Phoenix, Ariz.; Robert (Diane) Lake, Phoenix, Ariz.; Douglas (Betty) Lake, Lakeville, Minn. There are nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Roland, and Howard, seven brothers and five sisters. Funeral service was Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes. Pastor H. Wade Dutton officiating. Casket bearers were members of her family. Interment is at Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. Arrangements by West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes.
