Margaret L. Marquis
  Margaret L. Marquis, 86, of Elgin, IL passed away Saturday, January
19, 2008 in her home.  She was born October 6, 1921 in Fayette County,
IL the daughter of Frank and Louisa Lake.
  She was a resident of Elgin since 1944, and had been employed by
the Salvation Army in Elgin for many years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Salvation Army of Elgin.
  Survivors include her three sons, Franklin (Connie) Marquis of Rockford,
IL, David (Linda) Marquis of DeKalb, IL, and John (Carolanne) Marquis
of New York, NY; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren;
along with her sister, Augusta Tetley of Decatur, IL.
  She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Charles in 1995;
also two sisters, Mary and Arline; and two brothers, John and Warren Lake.
  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at
1:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, (847) 741-8800, with Maj.
Ken Nicolai officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services
in the funeral home.
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army
of Elgin.
