Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital. Age 82 years. Daughter of the late James E. and Barbara (Kerr) Lake, Marilyn was born on July 13, 1926 in Bay City, Michigan. She married Emil W. Kwater on October 20, 1945. He predeceased her on December 25, 1985. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, American Legion #439 Women's Auxiliary, Shields Eagle's Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing poker, euchre, bingo and also enjoying going on casino trips from time to time. Surviving are one daughter and two sons and their spouses, Gail LaCross, Beaverton; Daniel and Doreen Kwater, Thomson, Illinois; Joseph and Becky Kwater, Hope; four grandchildren, Herb, Jill, Doug and Karin; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim (Lynn) Lake, Thomas (Nancy) Lake, Richard Lake, sister-in-law, Lois Lake, several nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara LaFleur, a brother, William Lake, and a son-in-law, Herbert LaCross. Funeral Service will take place 12:00 Noon Monday, March 9, 2009 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate with entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
