                  Marjorie Bowers Lake, Prosperity

                  Marjorie Bowers Lake, 77, formerly of 952 Highway 76,
                  died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Newberry County
                  Memorial Hospital.

                  Survivors: husband, Harvey D. Lake; a son, Keith D.
                  Lake of Mount Holly, N.C.; a daughter, Barbara L.
                  Leaphart of Prosperity; sisters, Lera B. Kinard of
                  Saluda, Dorothy B. Dominick of Joanna, Alma B. Lake of
                  Columbia, and Shirley B. Fellers of Prosperity; and
                  three grandchildren.

                  Visitation: 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at McSwain-Evans
                  Funeral Home, with the service at 2:30 p.m. Burial:
                  Newberry Memorial Gardens.

                  Memorials: Grace Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 188,
                  Prosperity, SC 29127.

                     Marjorie Lake

                     PROSPERITY - Marjorie Bowers Lake, 77, formerly of 952
                     Highway 76, wife of Harvey D. Lake, died Jan. 6, 2000,
                     at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
                     Born in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the
                     late Asa F. and Bertha C. Bowers. She was a member of
                     Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a former member
                     of the Grace Sease Sunday school class and the WELCA.
                     Survivors include her husband; a son, Keith D. Lake of
                     Mount Holly, N.C.; a daughter, Barbara L. Leaphart of
                     Prosperity; four sisters, Lera B. Kinard of Saluda,
                     Dorothy B. Dominick of Joanna, Alma B. Lake of
                     Columbia and Shirley B. Fellers of Prosperity; and
                     three grandchildren.
                     Services will be at 2:30 Saturday at McSwain-Evans
                     Funeral Home with burial in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

                     Visitation is from 1-2:30 at the funeral home.
                     Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, P.O.
                     Box 188, Prosperity, 29127 or to the American Heart
                     Association, P.O. Box 6604, Columbia, 29260.
                     McSwain-Evans Funeral Home is in charge.
