MARY ALICE LAKE , age 85, of Houston, passed away Thursday, January
13, 2005. She was born March 31, 1919 in Wallis, Texas. An elegant and
strong willed lady, Mary Alice was an excellent cook and entertainer,
who enjoyed people. She was a sharp entrepreneur and business woman,
who during her career was an owner of a restaurant and bus station. Mary
Alice was preceded in death by five sisters. Survivors include her
niece and nephews, Loretta Tower, John Ellison, Leighton Gates, and
Ronald Gates. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at 3 :00
PM Saturday, January 15, 2005, at Westbury United Methodist Church, 5200
Willowbend, Houston, TX 77096. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to the Fidelis Sunday School Class of Westbury United Methodist Church.
