MARY CATHERINE MOFFETT LAKE Salisbury Mills, N.Y. Mary Catherine Moffett
Lake, of Salisbury Mills, a retired home health aide for many years and
a 30-year resident of the area, died peacefully surrounded by her loving
family on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at her home. She was 91. The
daughter of the late Francis Moffett and Mary McCluskey Moffett, she was
born on April 12, 1911 in Barrow, England. Mary was a former member of
the Jolly Seniors of Monroe. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Irv
Lake. Her beloved children, Irv Lake and his wife, Helen, of Monroe,
N.Y., Margaret Tanges and her husband, Robert, of Myerstown, Pa.,
May Wagner and her husband, Joseph, of New Windsor, N.Y., and Kathleen
Caruso of Salisbury Mills, survive Mary; along with her nine adoring
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at
Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe. A
prayer service will be offered at the funeral home at 7:15 p.m. Friday
evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March
1 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Sacred Heart, Stage Road, Monroe.
Cremation will be held at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester. Funeral
arrangements were entrusted to Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers,
Monroe, Thomas F. Flynn, Director.
