Born April 21, 1925, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie (Smith) Lake. She was a playground supervisor at Brooklyn Elementary School. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch 9. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She enjoyed knitting, music, and loved her cat "Taffy". She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with all her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Herman Lewis Harvey; daughters, Sheila (Fred) Reynolds, New Minas; Barbara (Kenny) Keddy, Union Corner; sons, Lewis (Sharon), Ashdale; Donald (Arlene), Lower Burlington; James (Gayle), Brooklyn; Bruce (Mary), Vaughans; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Lake, Windsor; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by grandson, Herman Harvey; brother, Walter Lake. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor, where funeral service will be held in the chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, Rev. Marilyn MacDonald officiating. Interment in the Legion section of Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
