Mary Ellen Malone, of Livingston Manor, a homemaker and lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris. She was 91. The daughter of the late William R. and Edna Knickerbocker Finnegan, she was born November 22, 1911 in Shinhopple, N.Y. Mary had been a member of the Horton Brook Free Methodist Church. In a family statement, "She was a wonderful loving mother, who loved all of her children so very much, and loved her life for her children. She gave her love unconditionally to all. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. God Bless you mom, we all love you very much, rest in peace." She is survived by her children, Marilyn Adamo and her husband, Joseph, of Ohio, Ronald Lake and his wife, Jill of Connecticut, Mickey Lake and his wife Joan of Monticello, Robert Malone of Livingston Manor, Dale Malone and his wife, Sue of Esperance, N.Y., Judy Melchick and her husband John of Livingston Manor, James Malone and his wife Shannon of Attica, N.Y. and Linda Young and her husband Dave of North Carolina; a sister, Annabelle Lake of Roscoe; a dear sister-in-law, Evelyn Jackson (Aunt Odie) of Walton; 31 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Nick Lake, thence by her husband, Emile Malone, a devoted stepfather to Nick Lake's children; by two sons, Ross Lake and Toby George Lake; her brothers, Ralph and Bill Finnegan; a sister Ruth Robinson; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Lake. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 22 (today) in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Avenue, Roscoe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 23 at the funeral home. Her son, the Rev. Ronald Lake will officiate. Burial will be in the Cooks Falls Cemetery, Cooks Falls, N.Y.
