The Daily Journal Vineland NJ Tuesday April 7, 2015 Mary H. Veach, 92, born December 18, 1922 in Port Norris to the late Lewis and Mattie Robbins Harris, she grew up on the family farm in Port Norris, and attended Port Norris schools and graduated from Port Norris High School in 1941. She married Millard H. Veach in 1942 and moved to Delmont, NJ in 1944, they moved to Port Elizabeth on Rt. 47, and in 1964 they moved to their new brick home on Buckshutem Rd. in Millville, she lived there until 2009 when she entered Genesis Millville Center. She was employed in her younger years in local sewing factories, drove school bus for D.E. Brown of Dorchester and Maurice River Township school system. She also sold Avon for over 20 years. She loved horses and rode until she was 70, she was a trick rider in her younger years and started the first Cumberland Co. 4-H horse club in Port Elizabeth in the 1950's, she also gave riding lessons to many local children. She won many trophies in horse shows riding western and English and was trail boss of horse trail rides in the 50's and 60's which she organized. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling, playing pinocle cards, eating out and family dinners and holidays. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Millard H. Veach in Feb 2003, brother Danial Harris of Port Norris; sister, Dr. Nellie R Harris of Oregon; and many of her horse riding friends. She is survived by her son, William J Veach, Sr. of Delmont; grandson, William J. Veach, Jr. and his wife Jodie Hampton Veach of Port Elizabeth; granddaughter, Nancy B. Fowler and her husband Jerry of Eldora; and great-granddaughters, Ashley N. and Madison G. Fowler of Eldora; niece, Lois Ann Harris Reed of Manheim, PA; cousin, Dr. Austin Robbins; friends, Mary Emma Frazer and Donna Jamison. The Veach family would like to thank all the staff at Genesis-Millville Center, #2 wing for the excellent care they provided to our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary H. Veach. She will be greatly missed by all. Graveside services will be held at the Roadstown Baptist Church Cemetery, Roadstown Rd. in Hopewell Twp. on Saturday April 11, 2015 at 11am with her cousin Dr. Austin Robbins officiating.
