Garrison, of Middletown, NY, passed away Tuesday, August 5th, while in the company of family members, at her residence. She was 91. May was born in Fort Wayne, IN on September 24, 1922, a daughter of the late Warren and Bertha Patterson Buckmaster. She was the widow of Everett G. Garrison. She was a member of Webb Horton Presbyterian Church. She served as a Second Lieutenant in the Army during World War II, following the war she continued her nursing career for 44 years as a Registered Nurse at Horton Memorial Hospital Middletown, NY. Nursing and caring for others was May's life, she was always there when you needed her, a true friend. While attending to others, she also helped with the Garrison Family Dairy Farm and raised her family. She is survived by her children: Patricia J Weis of Colorado Springs, CO, Jo Ann and her husband, Harold Helmeyer of Stormville, NY, Gregg E. Garrison and his wife, Sharon of Port St. Lucie, FL, Denise I. and her husband, Paul Robertson of Stokesdale, NC, Michael W. Garrison of Ephrata, PA, Shawn L. Garrison and Kevin W. Garrison of Middletown; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: Melvin Buckmaster, Harry Buckmaster, and Wayne Buckmaster; and sisters: Frances Fowler and Helen Weikel. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 8th at Morse Funeral Home Inc., 33 Railroad Ave., Middletown, NY. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 8 p.m. with Life Celebrant Louis W. Morse officiating. Following cremation May and Everett's ashes will be buried together with Military Honors at Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.
