Sullivan County Democrat Callicoon, NY April 21, 2009 p.8A Melvin C. Stoesser, Ret. Construction Supervisor, 88, Melvin C. Stoesser of Cat Hollow in the Town of Colchester, NY, a retired construction supervisor with Walsh Construction and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY, as the result of an accident three weeks earlier in front of his home. He was 88. The son of the late Floyd and Catherine Soules Stoesser, he was born December 2, 1920 in the Town of Fremont, NY. Mel had worked on several construction projects for the New York City reservoir system including the Pepacton Reservoir. Survivors include his wife, June D. Vosburgh Stoesser, at home; one sister, Eveline Lane of Cortland, NY; and two daughters. He was predeceased by a son, Bruce, and by three sisters, Pearl, Mildred, and Helen. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2009 in the Paige Cemetery, Downsville, NY. The Rev. R.L. Donohue will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
