Mildred B. Lake, 94, of Fairfield, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at her home.

Born May 16, 1915, in Van Buren County, she was the daughter of Jesse
Michael and Della Mae Godown Thomas. On Jan. 29, 1937, she married
Neville Elmo Lake in Davenport. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Lake was a homemaker. She loved working on the family farm with
her husband, working in the garden and cooking.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Lake of Fairfield; and one son,
Dean Lake of Cedar Rapids.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and eight
brothers and sisters.

The body of Mrs. Lake will be cremated.

No services are planned. Private burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery,
Mount Pleasant.

Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
