Grand Island Dailey Independent; Grand Island NE; 2001-4-26 LOVELAND, Colo. -- Mildred I. Wilson, 90, of Loveland, Colo., died Saturday, April 21, 2001, in Loveland. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Congregational Church of Burwell. Memorials are suggested to the First Congregational Church of Burwell. Mrs. Wilson was born April 9, 1911, in Burwell to Seth P. and Lula Mae Lakin. She was raised on a farm in Burwell and attended Rose Hill Country school. She graduated from Burwell High School in 1928. She studied normal training in high school and taught after her graduation. She married Carl L. Wilson on Nov. 11, 1934. They lived in Burwell their entire married life, where Mr. Wilson was in business. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker, wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, sewing, stitchery and gardening. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Burwell, where she was involved in the Women's Fellowship, taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She was also a member of an extension club and the Burwell Women's Club. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and served as a Fuller Brush Representative in the Burwell area for many years. She lived in Burwell until 1996, when she moved to Loveland, Colo., where she lived at the Court Yard, an assisted living facility. Survivors include her five children, Sharon Kleven of Oceanside, Calif., Suzanne Ellison of Laguna Woods, Calif., Carleen Jurgensen of Kearney, Carol Williams of Blair and Jan Wilson of Loveland, Colo.; one brother, Maynard Lakin; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; a half brother, Glen Lakin; one half sister, Rosetta Gaukel; and an infant half sister.
