San Luis Obispo Tribune; San Luis Obispo CA; 1997-7-25 Mildred Ilivia Norvell, 85, of Morro Bay died Wednesday, July 23, 1997, at a Morro Bay care center. Visitation is today from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel, the Rev. Paul Bautts of Bethel Baptist Church in Grover Beach officiating. Burial will be follow at Arroyo Grande Cemetery. Mrs. Norvell was born May 12, 1912, in Purcell, Okla. to Willis and Nettie Lakin. She lived in Delano from 1931 until 1985 except for a few years in which she lived in El Segundo. In 1985 she moved to Pismo Beach and remained there until moving to Morro Bay two years ago. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Grover Beach. Mrs. Norvell was survived by her husband of 66 years, Woodson J. Norvell of Morro Bay; two daughters, Barbara La Brash and husband Herbert of Stockton and Janice Parker and husband Ray of Springfield, Ore., four grandsons, Greg, Ronald and Donald Richardson all of Bakersfield, and Michael La Brash of Washington, D.C., seven great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Maude Heflin of San Luis Obispo, and Etha Woody and Lucille Powell, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.
