Topeka Capital-Journal; Topeka KS; 2000-10-8; eileen MANHATTAN (KS) -- Mildred M MOORE, 71, Manhattan, died Thursday, Oct 5, 2000, at a Manhattan hospital. She was born July 1, 1929, on a farm north of Ogden (KS), the daughter of Charles LAKE and Rachel SCHILLER LAKE. She was raised in Riley County and attended rural schools. She was a longtime Manhattan resident and she provided child care and baby-sitting in her home for many years. She married Wesley "Wes" MOORE on Aug 31, 1963, in Manhattan. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Sharon SIMPSON, Wichita (KS); five brothers, Carl LAKE, Dacona CO, Raymond LAKE, St George (KS), and Glenn LAKE, Jimmie LAKE, and Dannie LAKE, all of Manhattan; two sisters, Joyce NELSON, and Lula ZIEBER, both of Manhattan; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 10am Monday at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home in Manhattan. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. Visitation will be from 7 to 8pm today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Axxn and sent in care of the funeral home.
