Minnie E. (Lake) Smola, 84, of Holyoke, and formerly of
South Hadley, died Thursday, November 18, 1999, at a 
local nursing home.
Born in North Troy, Vt., and schooled in Ludlow, she 
was a communicant of the former Grace Church in Holy-
oke.
Her husband, Eugene Smola, died in 1967.  She leaves
four daughters, Arlene LaRocque of Springfield, Lorraine
Stone of Columbus, Miss., Jean Cuipenski of Holiday,
Fla., and Linda Chambrin of St. Louis, Mo.; six grand-
children; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Saturday, November 20 at RYDER FU-
NERAL HOME in South Hadley with burial in Forestdale
Cemetery in Holyoke.

     HOLYOKE - Minnie E. (Lake) Smola, 84, of
Holy Family Road, and formerly of South Hadley,
died Thursday at a local nursing home.  Born in
