The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 53, Number 115 and The Halifax Daily News Halifax, NS, Canada Tuesday, May 15, 2001 SWEET, Mona Roseta - 94, Windsor, Hants Co., passed away May 13, 2001, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Bramber, Hants Co., she was the eldest daughter of the late Edwin and Gertrude (Selby) Lake. She was a member of Windsor United Baptist Church and an active member of the Women's Missionary Society. She lived most of her life in Windsor. Mona was a devoted wife and mother. Following her husband's death in 1958, she operated a nursing facility for the elderly in Windsor for many years. She is survived by sons, Arthur (Shirley), Toronto, Ont.; Charles (Rita), Wolfville; Robert (Mabel), Fairvale, N.B.; George (Phyllis), Kentville; David (Marilyn), Windsor; sisters, Minnie Grace Lake, Windsor; Hannah Burgess, London, Ont.; numerous grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; sisters, Mrs. Jessie Shaw and Gladys Lake (Windsor); Mildred Lake, (formerly of Kapuskasing, Ont.); brothers, Victor (Bramber, Hants Co.); Edwin (formerly of Picton, Ont.). Cremation has taken place under the direction of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor. No flowers by request of the family. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 27 in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, Rev. John Bartol officiating. Reception to follow at the home of David and Marilyn Sweet, 335 Albert St., Windsor. Donations in memory may be made to the Windsor Elms or Hants Community Hospital, Emergency Equipment Fund.
