Reno Gazette-Journal; Reno NV; 2001-9-13 Former Shasta County resident, Muriel "Bootsie" Parker Brown, died Saturday, September 8, 2001, in Reno, Nevada, following a long illness. She was born in Burney, Calif., July 2, 1920. She graduated from Fall River High School in 1938, then moved to Reno, Nev., in 1940. Muriel was a homemaker and also worked in real estate and was interested in antique dolls and collectibles. Survivors include sisters, Bessie Townsend of Redding; Marcellaine Thornhill of Vallejo; Dorcas Atkinson of Lapwai, Idaho; brothers, Asa Lakey of Burney; Andy Lakey of Glenburn; Howard Lakey of Anderson; Kenneth Lakey of Oxnard and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements pending at Waltons Funeral Chapel in Reno, Nevada. Graveside services will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, in McArthur at 11:00 AM, on Friday, September 14, 2001.
