ROLLA - Norma Dale Higgins, 85, a lifelong Morton County resident,
died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.

She was born July 6, 1927, near Elkhart, to Elmer and Mary Lakin. She
graduated from school in Rolla in 1945.

On April 3, 1947, she married LeRoy C. Higgins. He died Sept. 13,
2002. She also was preceded in death by her siblings, Kenneth Lakin,
Albert Loren Lakin and Frances Lakin.

Mrs. Higgins started working with the Rolla school system in 1972 as
the lunchroom supervisor for many years. After her retirement as the
lunchroom supervisor, she became a para, tutoring special needs children.

Survivors include three sons, Royce and Terry Higgins, both of Rawlins,
Wyo., and Alan Higgins of Hugoton; two daughters, Judy Williams of
Littleton, Colo., and Tina Higgins of Liberal; nine grandchildren;
and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services are planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Rolla United Methodist Church,
with a flower service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Rolla Cemetery.

A viewing will be from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Rolla United
Methodist Church.
