Sun Journal; Lewiston Me; 1999-5-19 FARMINGTON Norman Clifford Lake, 70, of 293 Boothby Road, Livermore, died Tuesday, May 18 at Franklin Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past two days following a brief illness. He was born March 29, 1929 in Wilton, the son of Bernal M. and Helen Bryant Lake. He attended school in Livermore Falls and graduated from Livermore Falls High in 1948. On May 5, 1951 he married Carolyn Flaff in Strong. He worked at the Otis Mill during some of his high school years and until May 1952, when he went into managing poultry farms for six years. He also worked in the grain store business in Newport, Winslow and Gardiner. He then returned to Livermore and worked for Berry Hill Agway in Livermore, Farmington and Wilton for many years. He was a trustee at Franklin Memorial Hospital and served several years on the school board at Livermore Falls. He was a member and trustee of the Livermore Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed all types of plants and flowers. He enjoyed working for Chretien & Sons Greenhouse and Boothbys Farm Stand during retirement years. He was a loving family man, enjoying all his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 48 years of Livermore; two daughters, Sandra Wood and her husband Raymond of New Sharon, Holly L. Richard of Smithfield; two sons, Rockwood and his wife Annette, Duane and his wife Jill both of Livermore; four granddaughters, Carmen Burke and her husband Larry of Farmington, Angela Lake of Farmington, Amanda Lake of Livermore and Jodie Lake of Boston, Mass.; three grandsons, Adam Lake of Livermore, Steven Wood of New Sharon and Jacob Richard of Smithfield; two sisters, Phyllis Dolloff and Maxine Bailey both of Livermore Falls; two brothers, Elmer and his wife Louise of Fayette and Kenneth and his companion Grace Rodzen of Wilton. He was predeceased by a sister, Minola Bubier.
