The Chronicle-Herald, Volume 57, Number 75 {Issue number confirmed} Halifax NS Canada Wednesday, March 30, 2005 LAKE (Laffin), Patricia Fern - It is with great sadness that the family, friends and loved ones of Patricia Fern Lake, Moose Brook, announce her sudden death on Sunday, March 27, 2005, in East Walton, at the age of 42. Born February 16, 1963, in Halifax, she was a daughter of Reta (Harvey-Densmore), Truro, and the late Arthur (Mack) Laffin. Patti was a member of Noel United Church and the church choir. She was a founding member of the Double M Club and a board trustee for the Minasville Community Hall. She was a graduate of Hants North Rural High and Hants Regional Vocational School. Patti loved her fiddle. She lost her sight shortly after beginning to learn to play but she continued on. As with any challenge in her life, she was successful. Her music was her salvation through the struggle and her joy during the good times. She enjoyed the Friday night jam sessions that she helped organize. She was a strength and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her courage and optimism were a blessing to us all. Surviving are her husband, Harold; daughter and best friend, Selena, at home; brother, Ellis, Princeport; mother-in-law, Margaret Lake, East Walton. Patti will be lovingly remembered by nephews, Phillip and Andrew; dear friend, Murray Lake, as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Dana Barron; grandparents, Arthur and Lucy Laffin, and Roy and Vesta Densmore Lottie Macintosh. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Highway 354, Kennetcook, where visitation will be held today between 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 31, at 2 p.m. in Noel United Church, Noel, with Chuck Paterson officiating. Interment in Moose Brook Cemetery, Moose Brook.
