Case 85, of Kendal at Ithaca died on October 11, 2016 after a short illness. She was born on February 23, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Norman and Marjorie Lawrence Gordon. She had been a registered nurse in Seattle before she devoted her career to becoming a loving mother and supportive wife. She was active in her communities where she used her talents of entertaining and decorating. She was especially active in the life and ministries of the Owego, NY First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, gardening, reading and was a member of the Ithaca Presbyterian Church, PEO, the Candor Book Club. Most important to her was spending time with family. She had enjoyed being a Pastor's wife and took great pride in assisting him throughout his career in Liberty, NY. Upon retiring from there they enjoyed their home on Owasco Lake, moving several years ago to Kendal where she made friends and enjoyed her various activities. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Jim) Case Cardone of Shelter Island, NY, Beth Woolston of Cohoes, NY, Polly Case-Codner of Groton, and Allison (Bob) L. Terwilliger of Beaver, PA. She also had four grandchildren that survive, Johanna Case-Hofmeister, Jocelyn Codner, Claire Codner, and Alan Codner. Her sisters, Delinda Bonin of Roscoe, NY, Constance Lynn of Springfield Ill, Alice Gordon of Longmont, CO , Sally Shea of Roscoe, NY, Janet Sharpless and sisters-in-law Frances Sharpless and Martha Sharpless. Several nieces and nephews survive her as well. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. John R. Case in 2002. A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Owego with the Rev. Lisa Heckman officiating. A reception will follow for further sharing and remembering. Interment will be in the Beaverkill Cemetery in Roscoe.
