www.idahostatesman.com Patricia Mae Lake, 70, of Payette, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2002, at home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 501 S. Iowa Ave., Payette. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Graveside services will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. Bishop David Parkard will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Payette. Patricia Mae Rodman Lake was born May 18, 1931, at San Bernardino, Calif., to Harley Harold Rodman and Ola Modelle Belcher. She was the third child born in a family of five. In October 1935, her family moved to Mt. Solo, Wash. Patricia graduated from Longview High School in May 1949. The family then moved to New Plymouth, Idaho, in 1949, making this their home. Patricia became the teen-aged bride of Alvin Henry (Bud) Lake on June 29, 1949, in New Plymouth. they were sealed for eternity in the Boise Temple on Dec. 4, 1999. Bud and Patricia bought a 16-foot camp trailer in the spring of 1950, and traveled to Hood River, Ore., and the White Salmon, Wash., area. They moved back to New Plymouth. On Feb. 25, 1951, Bud went to work for Idaho Power Co. mobile crew and they moved around. On Aug. 1, 1955, they transferred into Payette and made this their home. They had three children - Gerry Lee, Harold Boyce and Beverly Jean. While raising their children, they joined the Payette Valley Riding Club. In 1960 Patricia helped to form the Payette County Posse-Etts. She worked for J.C. Penney's, Van Patten Lumber, and Payette Valley Fruit Co. Bud and Pat enjoyed raising and racing quarter horses on their little farm in Payette for 24 years. She enjoyed many hobbies - flower gardening, boating, camping, quilting, and working in the church. Patricia had a zest for life that she shared with everyone. She never met a stranger. She loved and lived life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by a daughter, Gerry (Howard) McLay of Parkdale, Ore.; grandsons, Robert (Michelle) McLay of Sandy, Ore., Thomas (Kristina) McLay, Terry (Renae) Harris and Brad (Lea) Harris, all of Payette; eight great-grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Mariah and Brianna McLay, Garrett, Kaylee, Crystal and Alexander Harris. She thought the world of each one. She is also survived by her younger brother, Bill (Kay) Rodman of New Plymouth; brothers-in-law, David (Ida) Lake of Nampa, Lyle (Bertie) Lake of Black Canyon City, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, May (Tom) Green of Oracle, Ariz., and Leona Plummer of Prairie City, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin (Bud) Lake; a daughter, Beverly J. Wiley; a son, Harold B. Lake; her parents, Harley and Ola Rodman; two sisters, Sarah E. DeClue and Sherry R. Hanna; a brother, Robert J. Rodman.
