The Herald Everett, Washington Tuesday, November 24, 2009 Obituaries Patricia Marie (Lake) Tastad Patricia was born on March 3, 1920 and went to her Lord on November 21, 2009. Mom was born in Wenatchee, Washimgton, the youngest of ten children. She grew up in a family of loggers and woodsmen in the Cashmere and Presnhastin area. As a single mom, she and her two sons came to Snohomish County with her sister, Betty, and her family in 1942. She obtained work as a waitress at Pat's Cafe on Hewitt Avenue where she met and married Paul Tastad on Decembver 10, 1943. They moved to the farm at East Sunnyside in 1945. Mom was a living and compassionate mother, a devoted, loving and hard working farm wife who worked alongside her husband and sons in building Tastad's Pullet farm. She loved family reunions when all of her brothers and sisters and their families would gather for an enjoyable weekend. She also loved the holidays when her own family would gather together with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom was a faithful and participating member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church at Lake Stevens for over 45 years. She and Dad toured Israel, Japan and many countries in Europe. They spent manly summers at Lake Sheridan in British Columbia entertaining family and friends catching fish. She is survived by son, Mike and his wife, Susan, of Lake Stevens, WA; six grandchildren, Kristen (Fred) Werner, Angeline (Gregg) young, Steve (Cathy) Tastad, Andrew (Renae) Tastad, Monica (Larry) Hall and Sammatha (Chris) Berg; daughter-in-law, Elmira; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; son Ted; parents; and nine brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the staff at Marysville Care Center for their loving care and compassion for our mother Family graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, Cypress Lawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, November 25, at Ebenezer Lutheran Chlurch at Lake Stevens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ebenezeer Luthern Church Memorial Fund.
