Pauline Bessie HOLTHUSEN

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sep. 27, 2000, in
Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud Funeral Home for Pauline Bessie Holthusen, who
died Sept. 23 at age 87.

Mrs. Holthusen was born March 30, 1913, in Ava, Mo.  Her maiden name was
Lakey.  A homemaker, she also managed a nursing home in Yakima for about 15
years, before moving to Portland in 1950.  In 1940, she married Ralph I.
Holthusen; he died in about 1984.

Survivors include her sons, Billie L. Curtis and Larry L. Holthusen;
daughters, Carol J. Herron and Patricia D. Ueltschi; 17 grandchildren; 32
great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.  Her son James D.
Curtis died last January and her son Ralph C. Holthusen died in 1995.

Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City.
