The Maries County Gazette March 17, 1993 Vienna MO Pearl Roth Pearl Lake Roth, 93, of Vienna, formerly of St. Louis, was born May 4, 1899, at St. Louis, a daughter of Bernard and Mary Knepper Peterbusch, and died at 10:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 1993, in the Maries Manor Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Vienna. Mrs. Roth had been in failing health for some time. She was first united in marriage on April 28, 1917, at St. Louis to Bernard Sjostadt Lake, and to this union six children were born. Mr. Lake preceded his wife in death on February 5, 1951. She was later united in marriage in June of 1960 to Theodore Roth who also preceded his wife in death. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Roth was preceded in death by her father in January of 1940; her mother in January of 1943; two sons, John Henry Lake on April 23, 1941; Richard Bernard Lake on June 6, 1982, four infant grandchildren, twins Jimmy and Joann Ragan in April of 1948, Susan Carol Ragan on May 13, 1949, and Bernard Colman Finn on January 29, 1954; two sisters, Emma Peterbusch in 1893 and Ada Hagler in 1945; and one half-brother, Edward Peterbusch in 1920. She was a residential and catering service cook, a department store sales person, a home show representative, a past member of the Eastern Star, and was active in Senior Citizen Groups in St. Louis. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker. Survivors include: two sons, Robert Edward Lake, Lake St. Louis, and Karl Frederick Lake, Maryland Heights; two daughters, Byrnece Finn and Mary Ellen 'Molly' Ragan, both of Vienna; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Roth at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 14, 1993, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, with Rev. Richard Broderhausen of Unity Church of Peace, Jefferson City, officiating. Pianist, Mrs. Beth Bullock played and a taped selection of 'Alleluia Chorus' was played for the funeral service. Interment was in the James Community Cemetery, Vienna. Pallbearers for Mrs. Roth were Gary Finn, Frank Lake, John Ragan, David Ragan, Robert Ragan, Karl Lake, Bobby Lake, Kenny Lake, Billy Lake and Edward Lake.
