Vancouver Sun; Vancouver BC Canada; 2009-11-21 LAKE- Phillip George Passed away from a battle with cancer at St. Paul's Hospital with family by his side. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Annie Lake and his sister Betty. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Joan nee Allan, daughter Erica (Brett), son Matthew (Kate), beloved granddaughter Ella May, sisters Carreen, Roberta (Ron), brother Robert (Monika) and many cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws, close friends and co-workers. Phil was member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 170 for 43 years of which his brothers will truly miss his dedication and expertise knowledge of this trade. Phil enjoyed riding his Harley, golfing, debates on news issues, watching many sports, attending many hockey, football and baseball games, making model airplanes and very much loved going to our cabin at Loon Lake. Phil greatly enjoyed his volunteer work as groundkeeper on 3 diamonds at South Memorial Park for South Vancouver Little League for 25 years. Special thanks to Dr.L. K. Williams and many nurses and doctors in the Pallitive Care Unit on Ward IOD at St. Paul's Hospital. Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Nov 28 @ 11 am at Hamilton Harron funeral Home, 5390 Fraser St., Vancouver
