Rachel M. Lake of Napanoch, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011
at Kingston City Hospital with her family by her side. She was 71 years
old. Rachel was born on May 24, 1939 in Ellenville; she was the daughter
of the late Leslie and Katherine (Burhans) Newman.

Rachel was a graduate of Ellenville High School. She worked as a cook
at the Ellenville Regional Hospital and prior to that she worked at the
Rondout Paper Mill.

Rachel married Joseph B. Lake in Grahamsville on June 2, 1961. He passed
away in 1989.

She is survived by her step-son, Joseph Brian Lake and his wife, Diane of
Napanoch; her brothers, Bertram Newman and his wife, Mary of Napanoch,
Joseph Newman of Titusville, FL; six step-grandchildren; several step
great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and her two bichon frise.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 6th at 10:30 a.m. at
the Furman Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main
St., Ellenville.

UCSPCA, 20 Wiedy Road, Kingston, NY 12401 or St. Mark's United Methodist
Church, 35 Church St. Napanoch, NY 12458.
