From THE REGISTER-GUARD, Eugene, Oregon, 29 November 2000, obituaries: RALPH LAKE The funeral will be Dec. 2 for Ralph B. Lake of Eugene, who died Nov. 26 of age related causes. He was 86. Lake was born May 16, 1914, in Salt Lake City to Joseph and Rose Ball Lake. He married Helen F. McDougough in Salt Lake City on May 12, 1938. He attended the University of Utah. He worked as a sales representative for Los Angeles Soap Co. from 1938 to 1943. He worked as a Realtor and an appraiser from 1943 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as bishop of the Eugene Ward; president of the Willamette Stake; regional representative in Eastern Oregon, Washington and Alberta; a sealer in the Seattle and Portland Temples; and stake patriarch in Eugene. He enjoyed golf and was a fan of University of Oregon football, basketball and track. He was a charter member of the Multiple Listing Organization in Eugene. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carolyn Schultz of Eugene; a son, R. Bryant of Eugene; a brother, Vern of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A granddaughter, Lindsey Lake, died previously. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eugene. The service will follow at 1 p.m., also at the church. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Eugene. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Family History Center or Missionary Fund. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge.
