Bremerton Sun; Bremerton WASH; 2000-2-9 Randolph Lake Randolph B. Lake, 88, of Shelton, died Feb. 5, 2000, in Olympia. He was born April 6, 1911, in Plato Center, Ill. He was a high school graduate and had attended college for one year. Mr. Lake served in the Marine Corps from 1933 to 1937. He married Bessie Jane Webb on Sept. 2, 1938, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death. Mr. Lake worked as an electrician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 27 years. Survivors include one son, John of Springfield, Ore.; one daughter, Norma Ingram of Shelton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation is scheduled for 8 to 10 a.m. today at McComb Funeral Home in Shelton. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. today at Hope Chapel, 421 West "E" St. Daily Olympian; Olympia WASH February 8, 2000 Randolph B. "Randy" Lake, 88, a 2-year resident of Shelton, previously a 20-year resident of Auburn, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, of pneumonia at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. He was born April 6, 1911, in Plato Center, Ill., to Ralph and Jennie (Bernard) Lake in Plato Center, Ill. Mr. Lake married Bessie Jane Webb on Sept. 2, 1938, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death. He served in the Marine Corp from 1933 to 1937 and was discharged as a private first class. He served on the USS Texas battleship and aimed the 14-inch guns. Mr. Lake was an electrician at the Bremerton Naval Shipyards from 1939 to 1966 and was also an electronic technician for Todd and Lockheed shipyards on Harbor Island in Seattle. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bremerton, the Auburn Bible Baptist Church, Langren Memorial Baptist Church in Kent and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Engineers. Mr. Lake was an avid mountain climber, enjoyed gardening and apple picking in Wenatchee. He also raised grapes, raspberries, and apple trees, and enjoyed feeding birds and his church work. He also sang in the church choir. He is survived by his son, John Lake of Springfield, Ore.; his daughter, Norma Ingram of Shelton; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, and 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, both at McComb Funeral Home. A funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Hope Chapel, 421 W. E St. in Shelton. Interment will follow at Auburn Mountain View Cemetary. Arrangements are by McComb Funeral Home, Shelton.
