Grants Pass Daily Courier; Grants Pass OR; 2009-4-13 & 2009-4-14 Raymond B. Lake Jr., 81, of Grants Pass died Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Three Rivers Community Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stephens Family Chapel, with Carl Wilson officiating. Internment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. He was born Sept., 21, 1927, in Springfield, Illinois to Raymond and Winafred Lake. He graduated from Stanford University in 1950. From June 18, 1951, until his honorable discharge on Sept. 12, 1956, he served in the Navy and Army, including service during the After returning home, he continued his career in accounting and hospital administration and was executive director at Palo Alto Medical Research Foundation. He also worked as a management consultant. On July 28, 1979, he married his wife, Juanita, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 2000 from Santa Rosa, Calif. He was a member of Rotary, the Rogue Area Senior Computer Assistance League and the Stanford Club of Long Beach. He enjoyed golfing, computers, reading, traveling, bowling and woodworking. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Carter Lake of Walpole, N.H., and Dana Lake of Rio Linda, Calif.; a daughter, Meredith Sole-March of Murrieta, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Dona Vlaskamp of Rogue River; a stepson, Lynn Muskat of San Jose, Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
